The MYSA Recreational League is all about helping kids have fun, stay active, make friends, and develop a love for soccer in a positive and supportive environment.

The Recreational League operates during the fall and spring seasons, serving players from U6 through High School across both boys and girls divisions. The philosophical foundation of the recreational program is to provide an affordable and enjoyable soccer experience focused on participation, development, sportsmanship, and community — not elite competition. Objectives include maximizing participation, reducing barriers to entry through accessible pricing and scholarship programs, promoting community identity through team and neighborhood affiliations, developing volunteer coaches through structured training, and creating positive family experiences that build long-term loyalty to the sport.

Teams are formed based on grade level, school, neighborhood, and geographic area whenever possible, giving children the opportunity to play alongside classmates and friends from their community.

Every player is guaranteed at least half of each game, ensuring that everyone has the chance to learn, improve, and enjoy being part of a team.

As players grow, the game grows with them. Younger players participate in small-sided formats that maximize touches on the ball and engagement, while older players transition to full-sided games that prepare them for higher levels of competition. All teams are led by dedicated volunteer coaches and managers who help create a fun, welcoming, and encouraging experience for every player.

We understand that families have busy schedules, especially as children get older and become involved in multiple activities.

The Montgomery Youth Soccer League Recreation Program is designed to provide flexibility while still offering a rewarding team experience throughout the season.

Most importantly, our focus is on creating an environment where kids can build confidence, learn teamwork, develop new skills, and create lasting memories with friends. Financial assistance is available for qualifying families to help ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate.

• Professional Coaching - $235 per player
• Parent/Volunteer Coaching - $105 per player
